Lyft driver Robert W. Sauvager was found guilty of sexual assault and battery and will spend 5 years in prison. Sauvager faced a sentence of 20 years, but had 15 years suspended after he plead guilty to aggravated sexual assault and battery. In November 2019, police say that Sauvager sexually assaulted a passenger in Midlothian, VA.
According to a Chesterfield Police spokesperson, “At about 9 a.m. on November 3, an adult female went to a local hospital and reported that she was sexually assaulted several hours earlier by a Lyft driver during a ride”.
After an investigation, Chesterfield detectives were able to identify the assailant as Mr. Sauvager.
