Mike Bomberger is a co-founder of Estey & Bomberger. In 1994, he and Steve Estey partnered to form Estey & Bomberger. Since that time, Estey and Bomberger has fought for and protected women that have been sexually assaulted. Their success and leadership nationally has empowered women to obtain the justice they deserve.
Mike has spent more than two decades fighting for the rights of women who have survived sexual assault and is at the forefront of the new crisis of sexual assaults by ride-share company drivers. Through his work, Mike hopes to bring about change to company policies by focusing on ride-share sexual assault cases.
Mike’s recognition as a leader in the industry has resulted in him being interviewed by local and nationwide media outlets. He prides himself on building a solid case and hammers away at the defense until he obtains fair settlements for his client. A recent $20 million settlement was record-breaking in California. Mike also negotiated a $21 million dollar settlement on behalf of several victims nationwide. In addition, Mike has co-counseled with Steve Estey on sexual assault cases resulting in jury verdicts of $30 million and $23 million. He currently represents a number of survivors throughout the United States who have been assaulted by drivers of the ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft.
Mike understands the unique challenges faced by survivors of sexual assault. He shares empathy with those who need help in such troubling times. Mike knows that each case is different and he works closely with each client to learn their individual story. He is intimately involved in multiple causes for protecting women. Mike receives referrals from attorneys throughout the country that seek his counsel and recognize his passion, success, and skill for protecting women.
Mike has been married for over 20 years. He has four children, two of which are teenage girls. As the father of two young women, Mike is acutely aware of the dangers and protections necessary for women of all ages who are preyed upon by ridesharing drivers.
It is Mike’s hope that through litigation Estey & Bomberger can make an impact on ride sharing companies and how they do business. Mike hopes to lead the change in these companies to perform better background checks, better training for their drivers and better safeguards for their passengers. Mike understands that ride-share companies need to do more to protect the general public, especially vulnerable women, from violent sexual assaults.
Mike believes in giving back to the community and supports the following sex assault survivor charitable organizations:
- National Center for Victims of Crime
- East Los Angeles Women’s Center
