In January of 2020, we reported on the arrest of Denver Area Lyft driver Tigistu Belete Ergo who stands accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was driving from Denver to Boulder back in 2018. In August of 2020, Ergo pleaded not guilty to second-degree kidnapping with a sexual offense and sexual assault.
In an update, Ergo’s trial had been set to start on March 15, 2021, but online court records indicate that he is now set for a five-day trial starting on June 21, 2021. Currently, Ergo remains out of custody on a $1,000 cash bond.
